The Board of Review conducts hearings on tax assessments, makes decisions of fair valuation, advises the City Assessor, determines exemptions in hardship cases, and certifies the assessment role. The Board of Review parallels requirements set forth in the Michigan Complied Laws, Section 211.29 and the City Charter. The Board meets in March at City Hall to review the assessment roll and to hear complaints. A one-day session is held each July and December to correct clerical errors.
