The Records Division handles all Grandville Police Department information calls and walk in requests for service.  Records Division hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am -4:30pm.  For general inquiries call the non-emergency line at (616) 538-6110 option 5.

Requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) may be done in person during business hours at our Records Bureau, or by faxing your request to 616-538-7553 or through online submission.  Fingerprinting

We offer fingerprinting on cards and livescan fingerprinting for employment, licensing & expungements. Applicant fingerprinting is done on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. Fingerprints on cards are $10.00 for city of Grandville residents and $15.00 for non residents , and livescan fingerprints are $64.00  for city of Grandville residents and $69.00 for non residents, cash or check only.  A livescan form is required for School fingerprints and must include agency or requestor ID and reason code for fingerprinting. You must have your Valid Michigan Drivers License or ID with your current correct address.   No appointment is necessary.

 Purchase Permits and Registering your Firearm

If you are purchasing a handgun from an authorized Federal Firearms Licensed dealer.  You can go directly to the dealer and they will have the forms needed to purchase a handgun.  If you have a Concealed Pistol license and you are purchasing or receiving a handgun as a gift you may obtain the RI-60 form from any police agency or it is available on MSP Website.  If you would like to apply for a permit to purchase a handgun to purchase from a  private party or have received as gift or inheritance, you can go to any law enforcement agency in Michigan. You will need a valid  Michigan Driver's License or a Michigan State I.D. with your current address  to apply.  There  is a $5.00 notary fee for notary services applied to gun permits, cash or check only. 

After the purchase of the firearm, please return the appropriate copy of the purchase permit to the Grandville Police Department. Gun Permits are only good for up to 30 days, once the firearm is acquired, the individual has 10 days to return the registry copy to our agency.

Background CheckIf you need a local background check for employment or housing you may come  to the Grandville Police Department with your Michigan Drivers License or ID during normal business hours and we will check for any contact made by the Grandville Police Department only.  Background fee is $10.00 cash or personal check only.
